Along with the invention of new vehicles came the stress brought by the busyness of the streets and the main roads. Follow some of the rules of the road that will make you stress-free whether in the midst of traffic or not.
Control is the main reason that causes people to get stressed while driving. If you have a problem with control, it is best that you commute instead of driving your own car to the office. Commuting with a train or a bus reduces your chances of darting in the road and competing with other driver, thus reduces stress.
Another reason why people are stressed during traffic is because of the issue of time. Since you don’t want to get stuck in the middle of the traffic and get late for work, try leaving 30 minutes earlier than usual. If your office starts at 9 in the morning and the average travel time is 1 hour, leave the house at around 730am.
The public road is not for racing so when you get to drive your own car to work, avoid racing with other drivers. Not only are you going to increase your stress levels by doing so, you will also increase your risk for getting into an accident. Stay calm when driving and limit your driving speed according to the rules of traffic.
Try to memorize at least more than two alternative routes from your house to the office if that would be possible. This will give you more control of your situation especially if the main road is under heavy traffic. Avoid busy and crowded stress as much as you can. Moving quickly in these kinds of places can bring you a lot of stress.
Don’t forget to obey road rules. The worst thing that can happen to you while in traffic is to get into trouble due to a violation or an accident. Check your car before leaving home just to make sure it is in perfect condition. Wear your seatbelt properly, drive safely and enjoy the ride.
