Success - How Making Powerful Decisions Now Dictate the Results You Want Tomorrow

Wednesday, March 23rd, 2011

Success isn’t something that can be achieved overnight. However, over time, anything can be accomplished. Most people are caught up in wishing, dreaming, and hoping that they will see a better tomorrow. They subconsciously believe that what they want cannot be obtained, and that their "dreams" will always be just that - dreams. Because of this faulty way of thinking, most people do not make it far in life.

By altering the way that you think about things you can alter your future. What you have believed whether in the past or in the present is what has brought you to your current reality. For example, consider the individual who is constantly told they will never achieve anything and believed what they were told. As a result that same person is more than likely in a low-paying job, living in a small apartment somewhere and struggling day to day.

But on the flipside of the coin is the person who believes that what they want they can achieve because they believe in their own abilities. The view life positively and simply will not devote their time and energy to worry or self-doubt. Negative things that others say are disregarded and they focus themselves wholeheartedly to achieving what they want to accomplish.

Whether a person is successful or not is all based on what they truly believe in their innermost being. The good news is that beliefs can change and if you are someone that wants to change your present situation you can do so by beginning with the little decisions you make today. In this way you will alter your future but requires that you focus on the here and now and on how you live your life.

The first thing you should do is change your mind. Of course this may seem difficult in the beginning because the way we think is habitual. But your habit of negative thinking can be changed and the way to do this is to believe in yourself. Success can also be realized when you become more action-oriented.

To accomplish more you need to manage your time properly and the best way to do this is to create a daily list of things you need to do. Begin with those things you do not particularly enjoy doing because by starting with these one or two things you will benefit more.

Rather than waste your time and energy on things that will have little or no positive effects on your life rather deal with those things that will make the most difference. Over time you will begin to see the changes in your life. Because you are achieving the things you set out to accomplish your self-confidence will grow.

Everyone has dreams and those who are focused, who believe in their capabilities, these are the people that turn dreams into reality. Identify what you want and then focus yourself on working toward making it a reality. This is vital to success and once you have done this you will then be able to concentrate on taking the proper steps toward achieving the success you both want and deserve.

Rushed Eating Results To Insufficient Nutrition

Saturday, June 5th, 2010

Plenty of people eat in the car on the way to work, without even giving it a second thought. Did you know that hurried and distracted eating isn’t good for you? If you are eating too quickly, it can harm your health. Do you think that you are eating too quickly to be healthy?

It’s not surprising if you are. Our modern eating habits have changed, and not for the better. We are so rushed, and we have such routine and mechanical lives, that finding the time to eat a balanced and healthy diet seems impossible.

When we hurry all the time, we aren’t attending to eating healthy food. Fast food, eaten whenever we can manage it, fills up your stomach so you won’t be hungry. Remember though, in the long run your digestive system will be better off if you watch your health better.

Even our fast food isn’t fast enough for our tastes sometimes. We want faster and faster food. Our fast food culture has led to us eating overspiced, over-salted stale food, often that has been deep fried.

This combination of poor food choices and eating around the clock without regard to a schedule leads to obesity. This is completely avoidable.

Instead, it’s best to eat regularly and slowly. Rather than worrying about getting enough to eat, work to get healthy food into your body. Every time you eat you make choices, and it is up to you to choose wisely. Try some vegetables and fruits. Vegetarian entrees are a good option occasionally even if you aren’t a vegetarian normally.

When was the last time you had a nice green smoothie, or a leafy salad? Try them! Even if you think you won’t like it, make a smoothie or a salad anyhow and give it a try. I am betting you will be amazed that these foods taste as good as they do.

Remember though that your body may not be used to eating healthy food. If that is the case, you’ll need to give it some time for your body to adjust. Be determined and hang in there, you’ll be glad you did. You’ll feel far better, and you’ll likely even live longer.

Don’t Sabotage Your Time In The Gym With These 7 Mistakes

Tuesday, February 24th, 2009

If you can manage to set aside the time you need in the gym, treat it like the precious commodity it is. Don’t waste your time with these top 7 items most people get trapped doing.

1) Believe it or not, one of the first things that wastes your time in the gym, is spending too much time at the gym. I realize that may not make sense, but it’s true. You don’t necessarily need to do cardio for 90 minutes everyday. Once you go beyond what your body needs, you’re wasting time.

2 - No more long rest periods between exercises. Usually this happens when you see a friend and you spend 10 minutes chatting about fitness. Talking about getting fit isn’t going to help you get fit. Don’t take as many breaks and instead schedule some time over coffee when you’re both of you are away from the gym.

3) Plan, Plan, Plan. If you walk into the gym with no idea of what you’re going to do, I can promise you there will be a lot of time wasted. Figure out what you’re going to do before you even step foot into the gym.

4) Have a plan B. Unless you have the gym to yourself, there’s a good chance someone is going to be using the piece of equipment you need at some point. Make sure you know another way of working out that particular muscle. That way you can keep your plan in motion and not have to wait around.

5 - Get intense! Push yourself further than you thought you could go. Physical gains don’t happen when you’re barely pushing yourself. You need to be going to failure on almost every exercise. Even if you’re just building strength and have no interest in bulk, you should still work to failure, just at a higher level. Remember, bulk comes between 8 and 10 reps and strength comes when you’re doing between 12 and 15.

6 - No “cheat reps”. If you’re like me, you’ve had a few cheat reps when you’re starting to run out of steam. It happens and you don’t want to beat yourself up over it. But, you do need to realize it’s not helping you. You’re almost better off just not doing those reps. Fewer reps with perfect form is always better than more reps dong incorrectly.

7 - Get a check-up from a professional. If a regular meeting with a personal trainer isn’t in your budget, consider having a check up ever 90 days to make sure you’re maximizing your time in the gym. A professional trainer will know how to get you through that plateau and on to bigger gains.

That’s it. The top 7 things that could be wasting your time in the gym. Maybe all 7 didn’t apply to you directly, but there’s something there you can do to improve the quality of your workouts. Pick one item and focus on that for a week. Then pick another one. Pretty soon you’ll be maximizing your time in the gym.
